MADISON, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham men's tennis team picked up its second conference victory of the season after defeating the Misericordia University Cougars 7-2 in a MAC Freedom match on Saturday morning.
The Devils (7-8, 2-1 MAC freedom) were masterful on the court against the Cougars (2-2, 0-1 MAC Freedom) and came away with a victory in first, second and third doubles.
Freshman Rich Bennett and sophomore Max Moscowitz kicked things off with an 8-2 win in first doubles. Sophomore Chris Ly and senior Ryan O'Keefe then followed that up with an 8-2 win of their own. The Devils completed the sweep in third doubles once Steven Serras and Jason Dubinsky won 8-3.
Moscowitz continued to play well on the court and in first doubles he came out on top 7-6, 6-1. After dropping second and third singles, the Devils responded with a Ly 6-3, 6-1 victory over Tristan Snyder in fourth singles.
In fifth singles it was O'Keefe who walked away with the 6-4, 6-0 victory before Serras closed things out in sixth singles with a 6-1, 6-0 win.
The Devils will welcome Berkeley College (N.Y.) to Madison for their next match that is slated for 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19.
