Football Drops Senior Day Decision To LVC

MADISON, N.J. (November 5, 2016) - Sophomore Jagger Green threw for 297 yards but the FDU-Florham dropped a 34-21 decision to Lebanon Valley Saturday.

The Devils fell to 2-7, 2-6 in the Middle Atlantic Conference, while LVC improved to 3-6, 3-5 in the MAC.

LVC took the received the opening kickoff, and marched down the field with a 12 play, 65 yard drive which was capped off by a seven yard touchdown run by Jon Jones. The hosts answered back with a TD of their own on their opening possession, as Green found freshman Steve Iannone for 25 yard strike. The two-point conversion failed and LVC 7-6.

LVC would add three more touchdowns in the opening half, heading into the half with a 27-6 lead. The Dutchmen scored their final TD with 6:14 left in the third quarter, as Tim Pirrone ran for a six yard score.

Green completed five straight passes, and was aided by a 15-yard facemask penalty to get down to the LVC 24. Green dialed up a pass to freshman John Pellegrini for a 24 yard TD, the second of the afternoon for Green.

After forcing a turnover on downs, FDU once again got down to the visitors 24 yard line. This time, Tommy Garner stepped in front of a deflected pass and intercepted Green in the red zone. The Devils defense seemed to wake up in the second half, and force a three-and-out. Green once again got inside red zone, but a fourth down pass to senior Esaun Mobley went out of bounds.

Green would find freshman Mike Panzarino for a one-yard TD with 1:53 remaining, but LVC recovered the onside kick and kneeled down to end the contest.

Panzarino had nine catches for 109 yards, while Mobley hauled in six balls for 77 yards. Sophomore Isaiah Turner had 14 tackles, including 13 solo, with Mike Brown chipping in nine.

FDU closes its season next Saturday against Misericordia.
