DOYLESTOWN, Pa. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham volleyball team swept Delaware Valley University, 3-0, in a Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom contest on Tuesday, Oct. 4.
The Devils rose to 13-7 on the season and 3-1 in the MAC Freedom.
FDU-Florham scored 10 of the final 11 points in the first set to pull ahead, 25-13. The Devils followed up by grabbing 12 of the first 15 points to cruise through the second set.
With a 5-5 tie in the third set, FDU-Florham scored 12 of the next 15 points to seal the sweep.
Sophomore
Kate Quinlan led the charge for the Devils with six kills, three aces and one block.
On the defensive side of things, sophomore
Nikole Meluso made 11 digs, junior
Rachel Catena grabbed eight and classmate
Melissa Gaffney recorded five.
Junior setter
Courtney Conte highlighted 13 assists and four kills for the Devils. Meanwhile freshman
Brianna Perone added eight assists and an ace and and junior
Arianna Christou notched four kills.
The Devils return to non-conference action when they travel to Bethlehem, Pa. to take on Moravian College on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 11 a.m.
