Devils Dominant in 3-0 Victory

MAHWAH, N.J. – The FDU-Florham field hockey team extended its winning streak to four by blanking Ramapo College 3-0 at Athletic Center Turf Field on Tuesday evening.

The Devils (7-3, 1-0 MAC Freedom) dominated possession and outshot the Roadrunners (1-8) 25-5 in the contest, including 12-0 in the first half.

MAC Freedom leading scorer Kim Davis got the Devils on the board in the 19th minute when she dribbled from the top of the shooting circle and sent a blast past Ramapo goalkeeper Emily Kramer. Davis' goal was her 12th of the season, which matches her 2014 team-leading total.

Later in the half, Marissa Kowalskie collected a rebound and sent it over to Alicia Grotyohann who promptly deposited her fourth goal of the season for a 2-0 Devils lead.

With two goals in the bank, the Devils' defense refused to let up. The team's backline prevented the Roadrunners from attempting a single shot over the first 35 minutes of action.

FDU-Florham junior forward Kylee Cintron recorded her first goal as a Devil at the 63:53 mark, which finalized the 3-0 victory. Amy Defnet started in net for the Devils and made two stops to earn her sixth win of the season. Defnet was relieved in the 67th minute by Samantha Rubin who made three saves in her collegiate debut.

The Devils return home for a MAC Freedom match against King's College this Saturday, October 3 at 1 p.m.
