Women's Tennis Falls in Final Regular Season Tuneup

Full Results

DALLAS, Pa. --
The FDU-Florham women's tennis team suffered an 8-1 setback in their final regular season contest of the season at Misericordia University on Saturday afternoon.

The Devils (5-9, 3-3 Freedom) will travel to Wilkes University on Tuesday for the opening round of the Freedom Conference Tournament. FDU-Florham secured the fourth seed in the postseason tournament by edging out Arcadia in a tiebreaker for the final spot.

Freshman Nu-Kermeni Kermah (Trenton, N.J.) battled for a victory in first singles. After dropping the first set, 6-4, Kermah rebounded to win the second set 6-3 before claiming the decisive set 10-8.

Unfortunately, the Devils were unable to find a rhythm and suffered defeats in each of their remaining matches. Sophomore Remy Astorino (Fairfield, N.J.) grinded out a second set victory but came up short in the third set against Misericordia's Nelli Chimi in fourth singles.

FDU-Florham will look to knock off the top-seeded Colonels in the conference semifinals on Tuesday, April 28 with time to be determined.
