MORRISTOWN, N.J. -- The FDU-Florham women's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 victory over College of St. Elizabeth's on Sunday afternoon.
The Devils (6-8) have now won back-to-back matches for the second time this season.
Serina Grande (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) and
Jill Duke (Secaucus, N.J.) started the afternoon with an 8-0 victory in first doubles, which was promptly followed by another 8-0 win for FDU-Florham in second doubles by
Remy Astorino (Fairfield, N.J.) and
Amelia Vetto (Portland, Ore.).
Grande and Astorino went on to dominate first and second singles with straight-set victories, 6-0, 6-0, respectively.
Playing third singles,
Tenzin Lama (Kearny, N.J.) defeated
Johanna Hernandez 6-1, 6-0 before
Kelly Pettilon (Brick, N.J.) picked up her first collegiate victory with a 6-1, 6-2 win in fourth singles.
The Devils received walkovers in third doubles, as well, as fifth and sixth singles.
These two teams meet again tomorrow, with first serve set for 3:30 p.m. at FDU.
