BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The FDU-Florham field hockey team was blanked 2-0 on Saturday afternoon by the Moravian College Greyhounds at Rocco Calvo Field.
After scoring seven goals in their previous two games, the Devils (4-3) looked to continue their offensive success and managed to put nine of their 13 shots on goal. However, Moravian (4-3) goalkeeper
Megan Kanyuk held her own, stopping eight shots to shutdown the Devils.
The Greyhounds were on the attack early in the first half and found the back of the cage in the 24
th minute when
Catherine Duffin scored off an assist from
Kyla Rodrigues on a penalty corner, which gave her team a 1-0 lead.
Late in the second half, another penalty corner was awarded to the Greyhounds and in the 62
nd minute,
Duffin seized the opportunity by scoring her second goal of the afternoon putting the game away for Moravian. The Greyhounds took 11 shots in the contest, five on goal.
Devils sophomore goalkeeper
Samantha Klimaszewski (Green Village, N.J./Madison) finished the game with three saves.
Next up for the Devils:FDU-Florham will square off against Drew University in Madison, N.J. on Tuesday, September 23rd. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m.
