NEWARK, N.J. -- The FDU-Florham women's tennis team finished the fall portion of their season with a 6-3 victory over Rutgers-Newark on Tuesday evening at The Golden Dome Courts.
The Devils claimed four of the six singles matches and two out of three doubles matches to earn the win.
Freshman
Nu-Kermeni Kermah (Trenton, N.J.) defeated
Catherine Popow 6-3, 6-4 in first singles. FDU-Florham sophomore
Jill Duke (Secaucus, N.J.) followed with a three-set second singles victory, 6-2, 2-6, 10-8 over her opponent and junior
Tenzin Lama (Kearny, N.J.) rolled in two sets 6-3, 7-5 over her opponent, which gave the Devils a 3-0 lead.
Duke paired up with freshman
Ore Obiwumi (Winslow Township, N.J.) for a convincing 8-2 victory, which highlighted doubles play. With the win, the Devils complete the abbreviated fall schedule with a 1-2 mark.
