Box Score MADISON, N.J. – Led by teamwide hot-shooting and a double-double from
Will Green (Cranford, N.J./Cranford), the FDU-Florham Devils men's basketball team earned their sixth win of the year, defeating The College of New Jersey Lions 85-71 on Monday night at Ferguson Recreation Center.
Green was a force on the glass all night and pulled down 11 rebounds along with 15 points, to help the Devils end the Lions three-game winning streak.
From the opening tip, the Devils (6-6, 1-1 MAC) were on fire and built a 12-point lead halfway through the first half. FDU shot 53.6 percent from the floor in the first 20 minutes of action and entered the break with a 39-32 advantage.
After FDU regained a double-digit lead, the Lions came storming back and cut the deficit to two with 9:26 to play. The Devils remained on top and countered with a 12-4 run over the next four minutes which was capped by a mid-range jumper from Green.
In all, four Devils scored in double-figures led by
Kevin Furlong (Hazlet, N.J./Raritan) who finished with 22 points on 7-of-9 shooting, including 4-of-5 from downtown. The junior guard also added five assists and four rebounds in the win.
Trevor Sykes (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's Boy's) and
John Flete (Flemington, N.J./North Hampton CC) netted 21 points apiece and combined for six three-pointers on the night.
The 54.5 percent shooting and 11 made three-pointers by the Devils are both season-highs for the team.
Lions sophomore forward
Bobby Brackett picked up his 10
th double-double of the season by posting 24 points and collecting 16 rebounds for TCNJ in defeat.

The Devils have nine days off before resuming Freedom Conference action next Wednesday, January 15
th against Manhattanville College with start time slated for 8 p.m. in Madison, N.J.
