Box Score MADISON, N.J. – The FDU-Florham men's soccer team (6-3-1) held on for a 3-2 victory over the Rowan Profs (6-4) on Saturday afternoon at Robert T. Shields Field.
Senior forward
Ryan Hurdes (Succasunna, N.J./Roxbury) found the back of the net twice, for his 11
th and 12
th goals of the season, leading the Devils to their third win in a row.
Trailing 1-0 in the 21
st minute, Hurdes evened things with his first strike of the day off of a throw in from freshman
Andrew Ruane (Parsippany, N.J.). As halftime approached, Hurdes struck again, putting the Devils in front 2-1 at intermission.
The game's decisive goal was driven home by
Chaz Armand (Atlanta, GA/Westlake), courtesy of a pretty through ball from
Dylan Meyler (Somerdale, N.J.).
Rowan forward Dylan Smith scored on a direct kick, cutting the FDU lead to 3-2. In the end, the Devils defense held strong and preserved the one-goal victory.
Devils goalkeeper
Nick Mihalik (Wayne, N.J.) made four saves in the victory.
