Box Score MADISON, N.J. – The FDU-Florham Devils men's basketball team dropped their home opener on Monday night to the tenth-ranked St. Mary's College of Maryland Seahawks 81-66 at the Roberta C. Ferguson Recreation Center.
The Devils (0-2, 0-0 MAC) hung tough with the hot-shooting Seahawks but were unable to overcome 28 points from St. Mary's senior captain Brendan McFall.
FDU-Florham was led offensively by captains
Will Green (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) and
Trevor Sykes (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's Boy's) who totaled 15 and 14 points respectively.
Also scoring in double-figures for the Devils was senior
John Flete (Flemington, N.J./North Hampton CC) who added 13 points in the loss.
The Seahawks (1-0, 0-0 CAC) shot nearly 55% (28-of-41) from the floor and a red-hot 6-for-8 from three-point land.
The Devils struggled at the free throw line 18-30 (60%) and never led in the contest.
