Box Score MADISON, N.J.- The FDU-Florham men's soccer team dropped a tightly-contested match to MAC rival Misericordia University 2-1, on a windy Saturday afternoon at FDU's grass field.
The Devils (10-6-1, 4-2 MAC) trailed the Cougars (11-5, 4-2 MAC) 2-0 at the half and despite several solid scoring opportunities, were unable to tie the game.
Junior forward
Igor Petrovic (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) headed-in the Devils lone goal off of a great setup from
Sebastian Gallo (Parsippany, N.J./Parsippany) in the 58
th minute.
Misericordia opened the scoring 12:58 into play when Nick vonEgypt knocked a shot off the inside of the right goalpost to put the Cougars on top 1-0.
In the 35
th minute, Misericordia junior Derek Antonini tapped in the Cougars second goal of the match to provide them the win.
The Devils outshot the Cougars 5-4 in the loss.
