PURCHASE, NY - The College at Florham Devils picked up their first Freedom Conference victory of the season on Thursday afternoon, beating Manhattanville by a score of 7-2.
With the win, the Devils improved to 2-9 (1-1 Freedom).
Sophomore
Megan Scherer led the way for FDU, winning at first singles (6-2, 6-2) while teaming with sophomore
Jenna Cowie to win at first doubles (8-3). Cowie also won at third singles (6-2, 6-1). Freshman
Michelle Berkenstock was also a double-winner for the Devils, as she took fifth singles (3-6, 6-4, 10-6) and combined with sophomore
Lindsey Martin to win third doubles (8-5). Junior
Kristen Lefkus won at second singles (6-1, 6-1) and senior
Marcie Schlanger took fourth singles (6-2, 6-0) to round out the scoring.
The Devils return to action on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Misericordia beginning at 1 pm.
