John Pieper drew a walk to give the College at Florham Devils a 6-5 and senior pitcher
Chris Laudati shut the door in the top of the ninth to give FDU a 6-5 win over Stockton in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.
With the win, the Devils improved to 8-9.
FDU started the scoring with three runs in the bottom of the second inning on a RBI single by sophomore designated hitter
Frank LaGuarina and a two-run single from freshman outfielder
Frankie Tassielli. The Devils made it 5-0 in the bottom of the third thanks to a RBI triple from sophomore second baseman
Brandan Adams and a RBI single from senior outfielder
Matt Joiner. The game remained 5-0 in favor of the Devils until the top of the sixth inning when Stockton plated five runs to tie the game at 5-5. In the bottom of the eighth, Joiner singled followed by walks to LaGuarina and senior first baseman
Ryan Fandel to set up the game-winning walk from Pieper.
Joiner finished the game 2-for-4 with a run scored and a RBI while sophomore pitcher
Chris Roberts was fantastic on the mound, starting the game and tossing five innings while allowing no runs on two hits. Senior pitcher
Mike Winters earned the win in relief, going 0.1 innings while Laudati threw the ninth to pick up the save.
