Box Score DALLAS, PA - After winning an elimination game on the final day of the regular season and going on the road to beat the top seed in the Freedom Conference Tournament Semifinals, the fourth-seeded College at Florham Devils were defeated by second-seeded Misericordia by a score of 3-1 in the Freedom Conference Tournament Finals on Sunday afternoon. It was an improbable run made even more difficult by Hurricane Sandy as the Devils haven't practiced since last Friday afternoon.
With the loss, the Devils finish the 2012 season with a record of 10-11 while the Cougars improved to 13-6-2 and will go on to the NCAA Tournament.
After a back-and-forth first 30:00 of the half, Misericordia got on the board in the 33rd minute and held that 1-0 lead heading into halftime. The Cougars made it 2-0 with 2:22 gone by in the second half and added an insurance goal at the 76:52 mark. Sophomore forward
Brian Morgan got FDU on the board when he converted a pass from junior forward
Ryan Hurdes with 12:00 to go in the contest but that's all the Devils could muster as the Cougars earned the title.
Senior goalkeeper
Tim Kirk suffered the loss, playing the first 47:22 while allowing two goals and making three saves.
