Kyra Dayon had 21 points, nine rebounds and seven steals to lead the College at Florham Devils to a 57-49 victory over Wilkes in Freedom Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Devils improved to 8-9 (2-4 Freedom) while the Colonels dropped to 4-12 (0-6 Freedom).
After ten minutes of play, the Devils held a 9-6 advantage but FDU then went on a 10-0 run to grab a 19-6 lead with 5:43 left in the first half. Wilkes cut their deficit to 21-14 with 3:06 to go but the Devils went into halftime with a 24-15 edge.
Wilkes came out and started the second half strong, closing to within four, 31-27, with 14:11 to go in the game. The Devils came right back though, with a 10-2 run to take a 41-29 lead with 10:45 left. The Colonels made one last push, cutting the FDU lead to just five, 45-40, with 7:15 remaining but FDU responded again, this time with an 11-4 run to take a 56-44 lead with 2:26 to play. The Devil defense took over from there, holding Wilkes to just five points for the rest of the game to seal the win.

The Devils return to action on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at home against Delaware Valley beginning at 6 pm.
