Women's Basketball Fall to the Ducks in Final Game of the Season

Hoboken, N.J. - The FDU-Florham Devils women's basketball fell to the Stevens Ducks in their final game of the season, 73-65 

 
Devils Highlights 

 

How it Happened 

  • The Ducks made a statement in the first quarter as they opened with a three-pointer 
  • FDU quickly responded with a jumper from Tighe, but the Devils still trailed behind as Stevens put up 8 unanswered points 
  • Made free throws from Tighe and a 3-pointer from Centeno kept the Devils alive as they closed the small gap to 11-9 with 4:35 on the clock 
  • FDU points coming from Tighe tied the game to 12-12, and a jumper from Sullivan allowed the Devils to take the lead, 14-12, as 2:20 remained in the first 
  • FDU went into the second quarter on top as the score reached a close 19-17 at the end of the first quarter. 
  • Stevens opened the second quarter with offensive dominance as they went 12-0 in scoring against FDU in the first 5 minutes of gameplay 
  • During the second quarter, the Devils tried to close the gap, but the Ducks kept a steady lead 
  • Towards the end of the second quarter, a combined 6 points from Allie Constantino, Clancy, and Centeno got the Devils within 1 point of making it a tied game, 37-36, into the half 
  • Stevens continued to keep their lead during the third quarter, but FDU kept close behind 
  • The Devils took the lead for the second time at 4:22 with a three-pointer from Tighe 
  • The Ducks climbed back on top, going into the fourth up, 53-49 
  • Early in the fourth, Stevens maintained a lead by a few points, which allowed them to expand the gap even further as they continued their offensive pressure
  • The Devils worked to stay close behind, but the Ducks defeated them, 73-65
