OWINGS MILLS, MD - The College at Florham Devils won the 2011 Stevenson Tournament on Sunday afternoon, beating Ursinus, Philadelphia Biblical and host Stevenson.  Freshman middle hitter Andrea Peters was named Tournament MVP while sophomore middle hitter Helena Riede was named to the All-Tournament Team.

With the sweep, the Devils improved to 7-3 on the season.

URSINUS - FDU knocked off Ursinus by a score of 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-23).  Peters paced the Devils with 10 kills while junior middle hitter Lisa Barenzano added eight kills.  Junior setter Nicole Weissert finished with 26 assists, freshman outside hitter Momi Mariani had 22 digs, and senior libero Marta Matera tallied 20 digs.

PHILADELPHIA BIBLICAL - The Devils then beat Philadelphia Biblical by a count of 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-22).  Riede led the way with nine kills while Mariani added eight kills and 20 digs.  Junior outside hitter Chelsea Hoeffler notched eight kills and 15 digs, Weissert finished with 21 assists and 16 digs, freshman setter Riley Brewer tallied 16 assists and 10 digs, and Matera ended with 12 digs.

STEVENSON - In the championship game, FDU knocked off the host school in a five-set thriller by a score of 3-2 (24-26, 25-21, 24-26, 25-18, 15-11).  Peters proved to be the MVP by collecting 21 kills while Mariani added 14 kills and 22 digs.  Hoeffler had nine kills and 13 digs, Rieded finished with nine kills, Weissert tallied 50 assists, Matera had 18 digs, and senior defender Jackie Kressaty notched 13 digs.

The Devils return to action on Wednesday, September 14, 2011, with their Freedom Conference opener against Manhattanville beginning at 7 pm.
