NEWTOWN, Pa. – FDU-Florham volleyball setter Amaya Ocasio was named as an Honorable Mention in the 2025 All-MAC Freedom awards, the conference office announced Monday morning.
Ocasio, a sophomore from Secaucus, N.J. appeared in all 28 matches for the Devils, participating in 103 sets. Offensively, Ocasio notched a career-high of 820 assists, averaging 7.96 assists per set. The sophomore's 53 assists on Oct. 28 against King's College set a new single-match career-high.
On the defensive side of the ball, Ocasio tallied a career-high 344 digs, averaging 3.34 digs per set. Also against King's, Ocasio put up a career-high in digs in a single match with 25 against the Monarchs.
Ocasio's 820 assists and 7.96 assists per set were both good for second in the MAC Freedom. She also finished seventh in digs (344) and digs per set (3.34).
Ocasio is the first Devils volleyball player to earn an All-MAC Freedom postseason award, First Team, Second Team, or Honorable Mention since Lauren Harris was named First Team in 2018.
