Greenwood, IN – Amaya Ocasio and
Tayla O'Connor were named to the 2025-26 CSC Academic All-District® Division III Volleyball team, College Sports Communicators announced Tuesday afternoon.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The selected student-athletes must have played in 90% of their team's matches or started in 66% as well as be a sophomore or greater academically with a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA.
Ocasio, a sophomore from Secaucus, N.J. appeared in all 29 matches for the Devils, participating in 108 sets. Offensively, Ocasio notched a career-high 863 assists, averaging 7.99 assists per set. The sophomore's 53 assists on Oct. 28 against King's College set a new single-match career-high.
On the defensive side of the ball, Ocasio tallied a career-high 355 digs, averaging 3.29 digs per set. In the same Oct. 28 match against King's, the Secaucus native put up a single-match career-high in digs with 25.
Ocasio's 820 regular season assists and 7.96 assists per set were both good for second in the MAC Freedom. She also finished seventh in digs (344) and digs per set (3.34). She holds a 3.84 GPA as a political science major.
O'Connor, a fellow sophomore played in 28 of FDU's 29 matches with 95 sets. She tallied 270 kills, averaging 2.84 kills per match. The Roxbury, N.J. native recorded 24 service aces and was second on the Devils in total points with 300.5.
O'Connor boasts a 3.76 cumulative GPA as a medical imaging science vascular sonography major.
