WILKES-BARRE, PA - Being careless with the ball turned out to be quite costly for the College at Florham Devils on Saturday afternoon, as they committed 31 turnovers in a 71-55 loss to King's in Freedom Conference action.
With the loss, the Devils dropped to 8-12 (4-6 Freedom) while the Monarchs improved to 13-8 (7-3 Freedom).
King's held a 13-10 lead midway through the first half but the Monarchs then went on a 15-6 run to grab a 28-16 advantage with 3:10 remaining. FDU responded with an 8-2 run to close to within 30-24 with 0:13 to go but the Monarchs got the last bucket of the half to take a 32-24 edge into intermission.
The Monarchs built their lead back up to 12, 44-32, with 14:11 to go in the game but the Devils clawed their way back and were down by just four, 46-42, with 10:19 to play. That was as close as FDU would get though, as King's exploded for a 23-7 run over the next nine minutes to take a 69-49 lead with 1:16 left on their way to the 71-55 victory.
