MADISON, NJ - Despite 17 points and 14 rebounds from senior forward Shealyn Taggart on Senior Day, the College at Florham Devils were defeated by DeSales by a score of 64-56 in Freedom Conference action.

With the loss, the Devils dropped to 8-16 (4-10 Freedom) while the Bulldogs improved to 17-8 (10-4 Freedom).

DeSales jumped out to an 11-3 lead with 15:13 left in the first quarter but the Devils went on a 20-7 run to grab a 23-18 advantage with 6:09 to go.  Taggart had 12 points for FDU in the spurt.  The Bulldogs came right back though, and closed the half with an 11-0 run to take a 29-23 halftime lead.

After DeSales took a 34-23 lead to start the second half, FDU went on a 10-2 run to close the gap to within 36-33 with 14:03 left to play.  The Bulldogs then erupted for a 22-7 run to go up by 18 points, 58-40, with 5:26 left.  FDU didn't quit though and whittled their deficit to five, 61-56, with 1:14 remaining after a three-pointer from junior guard Shaleah Alston.  That was as close as they would get however, as DeSales knocked in their free throws and FDU couldn't find the basket as the Bulldogs earned the 64-56 victory.

Alston finished the game with 18 points while freshman guard Brianna Nicholls added eight points and 12 rebounds.

The Devils return to action on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, with their season finale at the College of New Rochelle beginning at 7 pm.
