NEWARK, NJ - The College at Florham Devils won both games of the Rutgers-Newark Tri-Match on Saturday afternoon, beating Brooklyn by a score of 3-0 (25-14, 26-24, 25-9) before knocking off Rutgers-Newark by the same score (25-15, 25-19, 26-24).
With the pair of wins, the Devils are now 24-7 on the season.
BROOKLYN - Junior outside hitter
Chelsea Hoeffler led the way with 10 kills while sophomore middle hitter
Helena Riede and freshman right side
Andrea Peters each had eight kills. Junior setter
Nicole Weissert added 17 assists and 10 digs, freshman setter
Riley Brewer finished with 13 assists, and senior libero
Marta Matera tallied 14 digs.
RUTGERS-NEWARK - Riede and Hoeffler paced FDU in the win with nine and eight kills, respectively. Weissert recorded 23 assists and 10 digs, senior defender
Jackie Kressaty added 14 digs, and freshman outside hitter
Momi Mariani notched 12 digs.
The Devils return to action on Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at Wilkes beginning at 7 pm.
