NEW YORK, NY - The College at Florham Devils split their second set of games in the NYU Tournament on Saturday afternoon, beating SUNY Geneseo by a score of 3-1 (25-15, 25-19, 23-25, 15-17) before falling to host NYU by a count of 3-0 (25-15, 25-8, 25-20).
With the split, the Devils now stand at 5-2 on the season.
GENESEO - Sophomore outside hitter
Chelsea Hoeffler (Cranford, NJ/Cranford) led FDU with nine kills and 12 digs while senior middle hitter
Lauren Brazier (Stony Brook, NY/Ward Melville added nine kills and five blocks. Senior setter
Kerry Kuperman (Scottsdale, AZ/Chaparral) finished with 18 assists and 11 digs, junior libero
Marta Matera (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) tallied 36 digs, and sophomore setter
Nicole Weissert (Bay Shore, NY/Bay Shore) contributed 11 assists and eight digs.
NYU - Brazier and freshman middle hitter
Helena Riede (Haworth, NJ/Northern Valley Demarest) each had six kills while Kuperman added 10 assists in the 3-0 defeat. Hoeffler and Weissert both finished with eight digs.
The Devils return to action on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at Scranton beginning at 7 pm.
