MADISON, NJ - The College at Florham Devils secured their first victory of the 2010 season on Saturday afternoon, a 2-1 triumph over Arcadia in non-conference action.
With the win, the Devils improved to 1-1.
The Devils got on the board first at the 19:10 mark when sophomore forward
Josef Hess (Alpine, NJ/Don Bosco Prep) made it 1-0. The Knights came back to tie it with 13:25 left in the first half but the two squads then played even for the rest of the first half and for the first 11:00 of the second stanza. That's when sophomore midfielder
Josh Corpuz (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) was fouled in the box and given a penalty shot that he converted for the game-winner.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Tim Kirk (Pompon Lakes, NJ/Pompton Lakes) picked up the win in net, making nine saves.
The Devils return to action on Sunday, September 5, 2010, at home against SUNY New Paltz beginning at 1 pm.
