HOBOKEN, NJ - The College at Florham Devils beat Elmira, 3-0 (26-24, 25-18, 25-18), and St. Joseph's (L.I.), 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-18), on the first day of the Stevens Tournament on Friday evening.
With the two wins, the Devils improved to 10-4.
ELMIRA - Senior middle hitter
Lauren Brazier (Stony Brook, NY/Ward Melville) paced FDU with 10 kills and seven blocks while senior setter
Kerry Kuperman (Scottsdale, AZ/Chaparral) finished with 19 assists. Sophomore outside hitter
Chelsea Hoeffler (Cranford, NJ/Cranford) tallied six kills and 13 digs.
ST. JOSEPH'S - FDU had a balanced attack in the second match as eight different players had two kills or more with no Devil registering more than five kills. Kuperman notched 12 assists while sophomore setter
Nicole Weissert (Bay Shore, NY/Bay Shore) added 10 assists.
The Devils return to action on Saturday, September 18, 2010, on the second day of the Stevens Tournament against Swarthmore at 12 pm and against Oneonta beginning at 2 pm.
