CENTER VALLEY, PA - The College at Florham Devils ended their 2009-2010 season with an 81-52 loss to DeSales in Freedom Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
With the loss, the Devils dropped to 11-14 (5-9 Freedom) while the Bulldogs improved to 16-9 (11-3 Freedom).
DeSales rolled right from the start, jumping out to a 10-2 lead with 4:08 gone by in the first half. After the Devils cut it to 10-7, the Bulldogs responded with an 18-5 run over the next eight minutes to grab a 28-12 advantage with 6:47 remaining. The Devils trimmed the deficit to 29-22 with 2:39 to go, thanks to eight points from senior guard
Courtney Young (Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne), but DeSales closed the half with 10-4 spurt to take a 39-26 lead into intermission.
The Bulldogs started the second half looking to put the game away as they opened with a 21-11 run to take a 60-37 lead with 12:32 left in the game. FDU pulled to within 62-45 with 9:45 remaining but that was as close as they would get as DeSales earned the win.
Young and senior forward
Danielle Michlovsky (Wind Gap, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) each finished with 15 points in their final collegiate game. Young added five rebounds and four steals while Michlovsky notched four boards.
