MADISON, NJ - Despite team-highs of 17 points and eight rebounds from senior forward
Danielle Michlovsky (Wind Gap, PA/Bethlehem Catholic), the College at Florham Devils were knocked off by Misericordia by a score of 60-47 in Freedom Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
With the loss, the Devils dropped to 10-12 (4-7 Freedom) while the Cougars improved to 14-9 (8-4 Freedom).
With the two teams tied at 9-9 and 10:02 gone by in the first half, the Devils went on a 5-0 run to grab a 14-9 lead but the Cougars responded by closing the half on a 10-3 run to take a 19-17 lead into halftime.
The Cougars started the second stanza on fire, going on a 14-3 run to take a 33-20 lead with 15:07 left in the game. After FDU closed to 41-33, Misericordia put the game away with 15-5 run to take a commanding 56-38 lead with 4:06 to play. The Devils never got closer than 13 points the rest of the way as the Cougars nailed their free throws to keep a comfortable lead.
Senior guard
Courtney Young (Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne) added 12 points, seven steals and five assists for the Devils on Senior Day.
The Devils return to action on Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at home against Eastern beginning at 6 pm.
