DALLAS, PA - Despite 19 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals from senior guard
Courtney Young (Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne), the College at Florham Devils were defeated by Misericorida, 74-61, in Freedom Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
With the loss, the Devils dropped to 8-9 (3-4 Freedom) while the Cougars improved to 9-7 (5-2 Freedom).
The two teams played a very even first half, with neither squad gaining more than a five-point advantage. The large lead of the half came with 8:53 to go when Misericordia took an 18-13 edge. The Devils led 26-24 after a layup by Young, but the Cougars scored five of the last seven points to take a 29-28 halftime lead.
FDU held a 35-34 advantage just 2:35 into the second stanza when the Cougars ripped off a 15-4 run over the next eight minutes to take a 49-39 lead. The Devils cut the deficit to five points, 52-47, with 7:30 to play when the Cougars went on another run, this time a 9-0 spurt to take a 61-47 lead with 5:32 to go. FDU chipped it back down to five, 64-59, with 1:19 remaining but the Cougars finished the game strong from the free throw line, going 10-for-10 down the stretch, to pull away for the 74-61 win.

Danielle Michlovsky (Wind Gap, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) finished the game with 14 points and 10 rebounds while junior guard
Lynn Lopez (New Providence, NJ/New Providence) added 14 points of her own.
The Devils return to action on Thursday, January 28, 2010, at home against the College of New Rochelle beginning at 6 pm.
