BOSTON, MA - The College at Florham took won both of their matches on the opening day of the Emerson/Wentworth Tournament on Friday afternoon.  The Devils beat Wentworth, 3-1 (25-15, 25-7, 23-25, 25-14), before knocking off Simmons, 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-12).

Wentworth - The Devils were led by eight kills and four blocks from sophomore middle hitter Kristen Lopardo (Cranston, RI/Cranston).  Junior setter Kerry Kuperman (Scottsdale, AZ/Chaparral) finished with 17 assists while sophomore libero Marta Matera (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) had 26 digs.

Simmons - Sophomore outside hitter Katlyn Mullane (San Antonio, TX/Warren) recorded nine kills and four aces while Kuperman had 29 assists and Matera notched 13 digs.

The Devils return to action on Saturday, September 5, 2009, in the second day of the Emerson/Wentworth Tournament against Emerson beginning at 10 am and Salve Regina beginning at noon.
