JERSEY CITY, NJ - Freshman midfielder Joshua Corpuz (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) had two goals and an assist while freshman midfielder Manny Almeida (Elizabeth, NJ/Union Catholic) added two goals of his own to help the College at Florham Devils to a 6-0 win over Staten Island in the New Jersey City Tournament on Sunday afternoon.

With the win, the Devils improved to 4-2.

Corpuz started the scoring 18:09 into the game before Almeida made it 2-0 with 4:38 left before halftime.  Almeida then scored again, with the assist from Corpuz, in the 72nd minute while Corpuz found the back of the net just a minute later to make it 4-0.  Junior forwards Matt Daspin (Boonton, NJ/Boonton) and Duncan Swanwick (Basking Ridge, NJ/Gill St. Bernards) rounded out the scoring for FDU.

Freshman goalkeeper Tim Kirk (Pompton Lakes, NJ/Pompton Lakes) picked up the shutout, making four saves.

The Devils return to action on Thursday, September 17, 2009, with their home opener against Brooklyn beginning at 4:30 pm.
