MIchael Williams enters his first season as assistant coach of the FDU-Florham women's basketball team under head coach Marc Mitchell.
A native of New York City, Williams attended college at C.W. Post Long Island University, graduating with a B.A. in Health Education.
Prior to FDU, coach Williams spent three seasons as an assistant basketball coach and recruitment coordinator at John Jay College of Criminal Justice under head coach Diane Ramirez.
John Jay underwent a dramatic turn around with Williams on board, improving from a 1-24 record to 11-16 in his first season. After missing the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) playoffs three years in a row, the team participated in the tournament each of Williams' three seasons on the staff.
In 2011, Williams assisted John Jay men's basketball coach DeVernie Winston in recuiting as well.Â
Williams hopes to assist Coach Mitchell in bringing the Devils another MAC championship and additionally an NCAA title.Â
