Lou DelRosso has been playing tennis for 35 years. He won two Rotary International Doubles championships, and the doubles championship at Copper Springs Tennis Club in 1987. He was also a finalist in the Rotary Singles Championship in Bermuda and lost in the final to a player from Australia. Coach Lou also played for the Summit Tennis Club team when they won the division championship in 1983. He currently competes in the Palm Beach Senior Tennis League and won the most points for his team last year playing courts 1 and 2.
Coach Lou has played in Pro Ams and been on court with many of the top professional tennis players of his generation; Gene Meyers, Matts Wilander, Roy Emerson, Owen Davidson, Rick Leach, Peter Fleming, Dick Stockton, Mikael Pernfors, Colin Dibley, Guillermo Vilas, Tim Mayotte, Marty Riessen, and others. “Colin Dibley taught me my second serve, and Tim Mayotte taught me how to hit a forehand approach”. Coach Lou was a volunteer coach for Summit High School girls tennis a few years ago, where his 3 granddaughters played varsity, all starting as freshman and all have County Gold medals. It goes without saying that, Coach Lou has a passion for the game, and would like to share his knowledge and experience with all the FDU players.
