John Murphy enters his third season with the FDU-Florham football team and will serve as the team’s wide receivers coach.

Murphy comes to Madison following three seasons as the wide receivers/quarterbacks coach at Catholic University in Washington DC. Prior to Catholic University Coach Murphy was a high school coach in Connecticut. Coach Murphy was the Head Coach at Masuk High School in Monroe Ct for 17 years. His teams at Masuk won 8 league championships and appeared in 7 State Championships winning 4. Over the 17 years his teams were 165 - 33 - 1, 83% winning percentage. He also coached at Newtown High School in Newtown Ct, and at his alma mater St Joseph High School in Trumbull Ct.

Coach Murphy was voted as the SWC coach of the year 7 times, in 2011 he was voted the Walter Camp Ct High School coach of the year, he was also the Ct Post coach of the year in 1998 and 2011.
