Jack Messinger enters his sixth season as a member of the FDU-Florham coaching staff.
This is Messinger's third season as the Offensive Line Coach after stints coaching the defensive line, outside linebackers and tight ends the previous three seasons.Â

In 2016, first year running backs Rob Young and Steve Iannone averaged 4.1 ypc. Messinger’s offensive line also only allowed 1 sack for every 25 drop backs which was 1st in the conference.
During FDU’s record setting 2015 campaign the Devils saw great improvement on the offensive line, which had returned four starters. In the run game, Messinger’s offensive line helped starting running back Anthony Ognibene improve from 3.2 yards per carry in 2014 to 4.4 yards per carry in 2015. The offensive line also improved in the pass game. Their efforts helped to keep rushers away from the quarterback, allowing the signal callers the opportunity and time to complete passes downfield. The offensive line finished second in the conference allowing only 12 sacks, and did so with in 425 passes attempted, which was the third most in the conference. Messinger also tutored Rob Coyle to an All-MAC Selection, which is FDU’s first offensive line selection since 2012.
A native of Manchester, N.H., Messinger graduated from Merrimack College in 2012 with a degree in Business Administration. At Merrimack, he served as a student coach for the football team where he assisted with all aspects of the program including recruiting, video and game planning. Messinger was the coordinator of video personnel, software, and equipment. He scripted defensive plays offensive formations and tracked offensive plays of opposing teams to be used for in-game adjustments.Â
