Andrew Malson has been named the Defensive Coordinator of the FDU football team.
In the summer of 2018, Malson was named the Director of Men and Women's Golf, a position he previously held at Westminster College.
In his first season junior linebacker Isaiah Turner recorded 135 tackles, 3.5 sacks and two interceptions. That culminated with Turner being named Second Team All-MAC. Under Malson's eye, Turner was fourth nationally with 13.5 tackles per game.

Malson comes from Westminster College where he served as the Offensive Coordinator.
From 2013-15, Malson served as the defensive backs coach at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY. During the 2012 season he was a defensive Graduate Assistant at Western Michigan University under Head Coach Bill Cubit. During his time at WMU he was the Assistant Defensive Line Coach and worked with the nose guards and recruited the state of Missouri.

Prior to Western Michigan, Malson was the defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach for three seasons at his alma mater, Westminster College, from 2010-12. In 2011, his defense was ranked tops in all of Division III in forced turnovers and fumbles recovered. He coached 4 All-Conference players in the secondary during his time at Westminster.

Malson's coaching career began as a Graduate Assistant Coach working with defensive backs at Missouri Western State University. He is an alum of Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, MO where he played under current University of Missouri Head Coach Barry Odom.
