Jenny Carr

Jennifer (Tafro) Carr serves as the head field hockey coach at Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham, with her first season back in 2024.

Prior to arriving at FDU-Florham, Carr spent six seasons as the head field hockey coach at Ramapo College from 2017-23. During her tenure, Carr elevated the Roadrunners program both on and off the field, highlighted by a historic 2021 campaign in which Ramapo recorded a program-record 15 victories, made its first NJAC postseason appearance and captured the ECAC Championship.

Carr helped transform the Roadrunners offensively during her time at Ramapo, doubling the team's goal production during her first season and ultimately increasing scoring by 430 percent over the course of her tenure. She also helped grow the program's roster from 18 student-athletes in 2016 to 28 by her final season.

Before taking over at Ramapo, Carr served as the first assistant coach at Rhodes College from 2016-17. During her time with the Lynx, Rhodes completed an undefeated conference slate, captured the Southern Athletic Association Championship and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Carr assisted with player development, recruiting, film breakdown and academic oversight.

Carr began her collegiate coaching career at Frostburg State University, serving as a graduate assistant from 2014-16. She worked extensively in player development and recruiting while also overseeing individual training sessions and assisting with the program's academic support efforts.

Throughout her collegiate coaching career, Carr has helped develop 23 All-Conference selections, five All-Region honorees, two conference Offensive Players of the Year and two All-Americans. Her student-athletes have also excelled in the classroom, with 23 earning NFHCA Scholar of Distinction honors.

In addition to her collegiate coaching experience, Carr has worked extensively within the club and developmental field hockey landscape. She has served as a head coach with Falcon Athletics Field Hockey Club, helping guide more than 40 student-athletes through the recruiting process and into collegiate field hockey. Carr has also served as a camp director and head coach with Revolution Field Hockey Camps and previously worked as a site director and head coach with the USA Field Hockey Futures Olympic Training Program.

Carr enjoyed a decorated playing career at Montclair State University from 2010-13. She was named an NFHCA All-American in 2012 and earned NFHCA South Atlantic First Team All-Region honors in both 2012 and 2013. Carr was named the NJAC Midfielder of the Year in 2013 and earned First Team All-NJAC honors in each of her final three seasons.

During her playing career, Carr helped Montclair State capture consecutive NJAC Championships in 2012 and 2013 and reach the NCAA Tournament in each of her four seasons. The Red Hawks finished as the NCAA Division III national runner-up in 2012, and Carr concluded her career ranked third in program history in career points. She was also a four-time member of the NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad.

Carr earned her Bachelor of Arts in Justice Studies from Montclair State in 2014 with concentrations in Justice Systems and International Justice. She later earned her Master of Education from Frostburg State in 2016 with concentrations in Physical Education and Business.

Carr holds a Level II USA Field Hockey Coaching Certification and is certified in CPR, First Aid and AED.
