Ellyn Griggs enters her first season as assistant field hockey coach and head goalkeeping coach for the Devils, working primarily with the goalkeepers and defense.
Griggs joins the staff having completed a decorated four-year career at Stevens Institute of Technology in 2011 as a member of the Ducks field hockey team.
The three-time Empire 8 All-Conference selection holds school records in shutouts (20), goals against average (.97), and save percentage(.802). In addition to the All-Conference nods, Griggs is a three-time conference champion, two-time NCAA tournament participant, four-time National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Academic Team recipient, NFHCA Regional All-American selection, and NFHCA Division III Senior All-Star selection.
Off the field, Griggs has coached at the under 16/19 club level at Top Dog (Cincinnati) and All 4 One (NJ). The former goaltender is also a certified umpire and has officiated the Futures Regional Tournament and Disney Showcase.
Griggs graduated in 2011 from Stevens with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Master's Degree in Systems Engineering. In addition to coaching here at FDU, Griggs works at L'Oreal in Somerset, NJ.
