Volleyball Dominates in 3-0 Sweep of Delaware Valley

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The FDU-Florham volleyball team earned its first MAC Freedom win on Tuesday night as the Devils swept Delaware Valley on the road. 

DEVILS HIGHLIGHTS HOW IT HAPPENED
  • It was all Devils in this one as FDU took control of Set 1 after a 5-0 stretch to take a 13-7 lead. The Devils ended the set on a 9-1 run highlighted by two kills from Panesar to take Set 1 25-11. 
  • FDU continued its dominance in Set 2 with an early 5-0 lead quickly ballooning into a 20-4 lead after kills from Fitch, Panesar, and Hannah Weinman. The Devils finished the set with a 5-3 run and took a commanding 2-0 lead. 
  • Set 3 was more competitive as the Aggies held their first lead in a set all night after taking a 12-8 lead highlighted by kills from Charlotte Kampf and Monique Smith. FDU battled back and took a 22-19 lead with the help of Aggie attack errors and kills from Weinmann and Fitch. 
  • The Devils went on a 3-0 run to end the set 25-21 and complete the sweep. 
GAME NOTES
  • This was Wood's seventh match with 20 or more digs
  • Tuesday's match was Fitch's fifth match with double figure kills and digs in the same match.
  • This was Panesar's third straight match with 10 or more digs. 
UP NEXT
The Devils return home on Thursday, Oct. 1 as FDU hosts Madison Ave rival Saint Elizabeth. First set begins are 7 p.m.
