MADISON, N.J. – The FDU-Florham volleyball team topped SUNY Maritime 3-0 Thursday night at home behind a 13-kill performance from freshman Anya Panesar. 

DEVILS HIGHLIGHTS 

• Panesar's 13 kills led all players on the night
• Amaya Ocasio tallied 34 assists and 11 digs
• Ariana Wood led all defenders with 16 digs

HOW IT HAPPENED

• All three sets were one-sided as the Devils controlled the match from the opening serve with back-to-back kills from Laci Merz and Genevieve Fitch to go up 2-0. The Privateers quickly knotted the set at 2-2, but FDU began to pull away soon after. 
• It was quickly a 17-10 FDU lead as the Devils outscored the Privateers 8-4 to clean up Set 1 25-14. 
• In Set 2, the Devils tallied five straight points, four of which on four consecutive kills to make it 16-5 in favor of FDU. FDU then held Maritime to just nine points in Set 2 as the Devils notched 16 kills on 29 total attacks. 
• Set 3 saw FDU come from behind as Maritime worked its way to a 13-9 lead. A quick 8-0 run for the Devils including two kills each from Hannah Weinman and Panesar, flipped the set to a 21-15 FDU edge. Ocasio sealed the win in the end with just her second kill of the night to take Set 3 25-17. 

MATCH NOTES

• Ocasio has seven matches of 30 or more assists including four matches in row. 
• Thursday's match was FDU's sixth match this season with more kills than its opponent. 
• This was the second time this season FDU held an opponent below 10 points in a set (Set 5 vs York)

FDU hits the road for its first road MAC Freedom match as the Devils head to DeSales on Wednesday, Sept. 23. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
