MADISON, N.J. – The FDU-Florham volleyball team swept St. Joseph University Brooklyn 3-0 Thursday night at home for the team's third win of the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Devils got out to a commanding 14-4 lead in the Set 1 as seven Bears errors resulted in seven points for the Devils. A Fitch service ace and two kills from Mackenzie Crandall made it a 20-10 contest, but five straight points from the Bears cut the deficit to 20-15. Despite being outscored by the Bears 7-5 down the stretch, FDU came out on top 25-18.
- Set 2 was nearly identical to Set 1 as FDU took a 17-11 lead behind the strength of back-to-back kills from Crandall and Panesar followed by a Bears attack error. FDU ended the set on an 8-7 edge over the Bears.
- Set 3 was the night's first set in which St. Joseph's Brooklyn led in the entire match when the Bears led 8-7. Following their lone lead, the Bears kept it a close set, matching FDU point-for-point down the stretch. A Crandall kill put FDU ahead 24-21 and a service error from Keren Crespo sealed the sweep for the Devils as they took Set 3 25-22.
GAME NOTES
- The two squads tied in digs on the night with 42 apiece.
- The Bears led in just one set in the match.
- FDU nearly doubled St. Joseph Brooklyn's attack percentage on the night as FDU finished at a .260 clip compared to the Bears' .175.
UP NEXT
FDU returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 12 as the Devils head to York, Pa. for the York College Tri-Match. The Devils square off against Immaculata at 1 p.m. followed by York at 3 p.m.
