MADISON, N.J. – The FDU-Florham volleyball team topped Farmingdale State 3-1 in four sets Tuesday night in its season opener. 
 
DEVILS HIGHLIGHTS

• Junior Genevieve Fitch led the way with 15 kills and 11 digs
• Junior Mackenzie Crandall finished with 13 kills 
• Arianna Wood finished with a team-high 29 digs
• Freshman Anya Panesar had 20 digs in her collegiate debut

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The two squads played a long and competitive first set, but it was Farmingdale that came out on top 25-20 after a 7-2 run from the Rams to close out the set. 
• The Devils took Set 2 by a score of 25-22 on the power of back-to-back kills from Fitch. 
• Set 3 was a dominant set from the Devils, as FDU took a 20-10 lead at one point, and eventually took the set 25-12 to take a 2-1 lead. 
• FDU continued its dominance on the night in Set 4 with a 25-18 win that included an 8-0 run with three kills from Laci Merz. 

GAME NOTES

• The Devils had 13 or more kills in three of their four sets
• FDU went errorless in all of Set 3
• The two teams were even in digs with 98 apiece 

UP NEXT
FDU welcomes Wilkes to Madison as the Devils take on the Colonels in a non-conference match on Thursday, Sept. 3. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
