MADISON, N.J. – The FDU-Florham softball team dropped both games of its doubleheader against Drew University Thursday afternoon at home as the Devils fell 10-6 in Game 1 and 6-4 in Game 2.
DEVILS HIGHLIGHTS (Game 1)
- Jada Lambright went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI
- Like Lambright, Riley Signor also went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple and one RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the top of the first, Drew's Haley Meierhofer singled home Olivia Magliacano to take a 1-0 lead.
- Over the next three innings, the Rangers tacked on six more runs to take a 7-0 lead.
- In the bottom of the fourth, Signor doubled home Lambright to get the Devils on the board.
- Two batters later, Abigail Rodriguez singled home Signor followed by an RBI-fielder's choice from Alison Wysocki to cut the deficit to 7-3.
- In the sixth, the Rangers added to their lead with a three-run inning to take a 10-3 edge.
- FDU scored three times in the bottom of the seventh as Lambright drove in two to make it a 10-5 game followed by a sac fly from Hailey Wodecki to plate Lambright, but that was all the offense could muster as the Devils dropped Game 1 10-6.
DEVILS HIGHLIGHTS (Game 2)
- Signor went 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
- Lambright went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI
- Alison Wysocki was 3-for-4 with a run scored
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Devils scored first in Game 2 as Grace Capparelli singled home Signor for the game's first run in the bottom of the second inning.
- In the third, Drew's Sloan Walmsley plated Sam Pellegri with an RBI-single up the middle to knot the game at 1-1.
- In the bottom half, Lambright doubled to center to score Wysocki and give the Devils a 2-1 lead.
- The Rangers answered once again in the top of the fourth as an RBI-single from Kaitlynne Streets tied the game at two apiece.
- The two squads remained tied into the eighth inning until Lorelei Lorentzen scored from second base on aggressive base running.
- The Devils responded in the bottom half of the eighth with a sac fly from Kylee Berg to tie the game once again and send it to the ninth tied at 3-3.
- In the top of the ninth, Drew plated two runs and despite getting the tying run up to the plate in the bottom of the ninth, FDU fell to Drew in Game 2 6-4.
GAME NOTES
- Abigail Rodriguez recorded her 100th-career hit with a single in the bottom of the ninth.
- Lambright became the first player in program history with 40 career doubles.

The Devils return to action on Saturday, April 11 as FDU heads to Wilkes-Barre, Pa. for a MAC Freedom doubleheader against King's College. First pitch of Game 1 is set for 1 p.m.
