MADISON, N.J. -- The FDU-Florham baseball team got back on track with a 2-0 shutout victory over John Jay in non-conference action, snapping a two-game losing streak.

DEVILS HIGHLIGHTS
- Junior John Rolli had a standout performance at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a triple and two singles.
- Sophomore Xavier Diaz contributed offensively as well, finishing 2-for-4 with a pair of singles.
- Junior Dominick Galeotafiore earned his first win of the season on the mound, tossing two scoreless innings while allowing no hits and striking out three.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Locked in a scoreless battle through the first three innings, the Devils managed just one hit before breaking through in the bottom of the fourth. Diaz got things started with a single to right field and then swiped second base. Junior Peter Longo moved him over with a fly ball to center, and Matthew Bond followed with a clutch single to third base to bring Diaz home for the game's first run.
- The Devils added some insurance in the bottom of the eighth. Rolli sparked the inning with a lead off triple to left center, and Longo once again delivered, lifting a sacrifice fly to right field to plate the second run and extend the lead to 2-0.
- Freshman CJ Bates came on in the ninth and shut the door, retiring all three batters he faced to secure the shutout victory for the Devils.
GAME NOTES
- Rolli recorded the 100th hit of his career Tuesday afternoon.
- Junior Dominick Galeotafiore, senior Jake Stollar, sophomore Tyler Gaetano, and first-years Alex Hart and Bates combined to throw a dominant nine innings, allowing no runs on just two hits while striking out nine. Â
UP NEXT
The Devils travel to Wilkes-Barre, Pa. to take on King's College on Friday, April 11 for the first of a three-game series against the Monarchs. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
