BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The FDU-Florham softball team dropped both games of its doubleheader against Moravian University Thursday afternoon on the road as the Devils dropped Game 1 5-3 and then fell 6-0 in Game 2.
DEVILS HIGHLIGHTS (Game 1)
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Greyhounds took a 3-0 lead after the third inning before adding a fourth run in the fourth.
- In the fifth, FDU answered with an RBI-single off the bat of Alison Wysocki to cut the deficit to 4-1.
- In the sixth, Moravian tacked on another for a 5-1 lead.
- Then in the seventh, another RBI from Wysocki and a throwing miscue from the Greyhounds added to more FDU runs to make it a 5-3 Moravian lead.
- Following the two runs, the Devils recorded three straight outs and dropped Game 1 5-3.
DEVILS HIGHLIGHTS (Game 2)
- Burrell had FDU's lone hit
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Devils fell behind 3-0 after the second inning.
- The Greyhounds added two more runs in the fourth to take a 6-0 lead.
- Moravian's Kyra Holtje tossed a complete game one-hitter against the Devils.
UP NEXT
FDU returns to action on Friday, April 24 as the Devils head to Hoboken, N.J. to face cross town rival Stevens for the final regular season doubleheader of the season. First pitch of Game 1 is set for 3 p.m.
