DALLAS, Pa. – The FDU-Florham baseball team ends the weekend with a loss to the Cougars Sunday afternoon.
Devils Highlights
- Sophomore Xavier Diaz continues his hot streak, going 1-for-3 with one walk and one RBI.
- Sophomore Matthew Bond had a great day at the plate, going 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI.
- Junior John Rolli also had a solid day, going 1-for-3 with one run scored.
How It Happened
- The Devils struck first in the series finale, putting up two runs in the top of the second inning. A two RBI double off the bat of Bond broke open the game and brought home junior Peter Longo and first year Noah Fiorillo. By the end of the frame, the Devils held a 2-1 lead against the Cougars.
- The team would add one more run to their offensive production on the day in the top of the sixth inning. After a leadoff single by Rolli and an error from Misericordia pitcher Jase Seltzer, Diaz delivered an RBI single to center field to cut the deficit down to 5-3.
Game Notes
- Six players recorded a hit in today's game, with two players recording extra base hits.
- With an RBI single in the sixth inning, Diaz currently holds a four game hitting streak.
