Dombrowski Scores Twice, Securing the 3-0 Win Against William Paterson

MADISON, N.J. – The FDU-Florham Devils field hockey team hosted William Paterson this evening for a non-conference match up. The scoreless game was turned around during the second half as the Devils offense turned up the heat to defeat William Paterson 3-0. 
  
Devils Highlights 

  • Junior forward Gianna Ercolani got the Devils on the board in the third quarter 

  • First-year defender Emma Dombrowski earned two goals for FDU in the fourth quarter

  • Junior goalkeeper Adrianna Goodwin totaled 4 saves during her 60:00 minutes of play 

  • As a team, the Devils led in shots with 23 (13 on goal) and in penalty corners, collecting 15 

How it Happened 

  • The first two quarters went scoreless as FDU led in shots with 9, but none were converted. 

  • The Devils' offense came alive in the second half as they notched 16 shots, where three found the back of the cage.  

  • Ercolani earned FDU their first goal of the contest in the third period after being assisted by Mariana Lopez to an open William Paterson cage. 

  • Dombrowski scored the Devils' second goal in the final quarter with less than 10 minutes left of gameplay. 

  • One goal was not enough for Dombrowski as she landed a shot from the 10' past William Paterson's defense and goalie to secure the Devils win.

The Devils will continue home as they host Stockton University on Saturday, Sept 6 at 4:30pm.
