MADISON, N.J. – The FDU-Florham men's soccer team defeated Cairn University 2-1 Saturday afternoon behind a two-goal performance from Diego Trujillo. 

DEVILS HIGHLIGHTS

• Trujillo had five shots on the afternoon with two of his three finding the back of the Cairn net. 
• Denti Gauti led all Devils shot takers with six and finished with four on frame.
• Sophomore goalkeeper Victor Ciach tallied nine saves

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Trujillo wasted no time Saturday afternoon as the senior forward scored in the 3'. After a Betim Zhuta shot was blocked, Trujillo took advantage of the deflection and ripped a shot past the Cairn keeper to put the Devils up 1-0. 
• In the 14', after a Cairn foul, Trujillo found the back of the Highlanders net on a free kick to extend the Devils lead to 2-0. 
• Ciach held Cairn off the board in the first half making three saves and sending the match into the break with FDU holding a 2-0 edge. 
• The second half was a dog fight between the two clubs as both keepers made nine saves. After being outshot in the first half 14-3, the Highlanders tallied 14 shots compared to the Devils 12. 
• Then in the 89', the Highlanders broke through on a header goal from Alijah Miller off an assist from a free kick from Emanual Lazor. Despite the late goal, the Devils held strong to come away with the 2-1 win. 

MATCH NOTES

• FDU extended its unbeaten streak to four matches in a row. 
• Saturday's goal was the first allowed by Ciach since Aug. 31 against Kean. 
• Trujillo leads the MAC Freedom in goals with seven.

FDU returns to the pitch on Tuesday, Sept. 23 as the Devils head to Muhlenberg. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m.
