Madison, NJ. (May 7) – FDU-Florham Women's Lacrosse saw two of its student-athletes honored with All-Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (All-MAC Freedom) accolades this spring as the league announced its selections on Thursday morning.
Senior Alexis Ashton (Blairstown, NJ) earned her fourth career All-MAC Freedom honor as the midfielder and was announced on this year's first team. Alongside Ashton, junior Juliana Medina (Linwood, NJ) earned her second All-MAC Freedom honor, making this year's second team as a midfielder.
Ashton has started in all 15 games for the Devils as a senior this season. The team captain has netted 63 goals and 6 assists for 69 points, picked up 35 ground balls, caused 17 turnovers, and earned 94 draw control wins. This season, Ashton reached 200 career points against Drew on March 19th, earned 200 career goals and 100 ground balls against Delaware Valley on April 19th, as well as recorded 300 career draw controls against Lebanon Valley on April 23rd.
Medina has started in 14 of the 15 games for the Devils as a junior. She has netted 53 goals and 13 assists for 66 points, picked up 23 ground balls, caused 16 turnovers, and had 84 draw control wins. Medina has contributed greatly to the Devils as she scored the game-winning goal in OT against Delaware Valley on April 19th. This season she recorded 100 career draw controls against Mt. St. Mary on March 22nd, earned 100 career points against Maritime on March 26th, and collected 100 career goals against King's (PA) on April 16th.
