Madison, NJ (April 27) – FDU-Florham Women's Tennis (1-15, 0-6 MAC Freedom) took on Arcadia in their final match of the season. Unfortunately, they lost by a score of 7-0.
Doubles kicked off the event, as
Meliha Bektesevic (Wayne, NJ) and
Ivonne Vargas went up against Falk and Iordache. They could not come up with the win however, as they fell by a score of 6-1.
Paula Vanegas (Guttenberg, NJ) and
Giavana Caraccioli (Bound Brook, NJ) squared up against Hatcher and Young, but unfortunately fell 6-2. Doubles #3 was with
Marilu Guzman (Newark, NJ) and
Lindsay Sperling (Whippany, NJ), but they too fell, this time by a score of 6-1 to DaSilva and Duran, meaning Arcadia took a 1-0 lead in the match overall.
Singles #1 was Bektesevic battle Falk, and although she took the first set, 6-4, she lost the latter two 6-4 and 6-2, losing the set overall. Vargas took on Iordache in Singles #2, but lose in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. Vanegas fought Hatcher in Singles #3, but dropped the set 6-3, 6-1.
Sperling faced off against Young in Singles #4, but lost by a score of 6-2, 6-0. Singles #5 had DaSilva defeat Caraccioli 8-0, and Singles #6 had Guzman play Scannapieco, who only played in singles, and lost 8-0.
